The Communications Strategy for ECOWAS Vision 2050 was written as a roadmap introducing and then raising the profile of ECOWAS Vision 2050 in the short, medium and long term. Through detailed situational analysis and stakeholder analyses, key audiences and messages were identified and outreach efforts translated into effective tools and channels for communication, highlighting the impacts of ECOWAS Vision 2050, and the real-life stories of beneficiaries around the ECOWAS Region. Building on what has come before in the ECOWAS Vision 2020, ECOWAS Vision 2050 aims to reach further, learning the lessons of the past and extending the excitement and awareness around the mission to the grassroots level. The overall goal is a strategy targeted directly at ECOWAS citizens across and through all ECOWAS Member States and the diaspora internationally, instilling feelings of unity and ownership around this ambitious vision for their future. Specific efforts were made to engage marginalized sections of the ECOWAS community, but the strategy shows the impacts and benefits of Vision 2050 for everyone in ECOWAS, how it applies to them, and how they have a stake in its success.
