Carlos Vargas is the Founder & CEO of Kopperkollektive and a Senior Communication Expert. He brings more than 10 years of international experience in strategic communications and in production of communication products. He has experience working with continental and regional organizations such as the African Union and the East African Community. He led the process to develop a communication strategy for the Pan African University and was in charge of starting the implementation process including developing the official website and capacity building of the staff involved to ensure sustainability. In addition, he led the consultant team to develop the communication strategy for the EAC-GIZ cluster and developed the EAC-GIZ webportal. Carlos is currently supporting the GIZ ECOWAS Regional Stabilization Fund in Abuja, Nigeria and the African Union Border Programme in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in their communication efforts. He is knowledgeable and experienced in working in the highly political environments of the African continent.

Tania’s skills and experience cover - Program management, Strategy design, Facilitation, Training, Report writing and Copywriting across all communications collateral, Community and Stakeholder engagement, Fundraising, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning design, Video & Radio Production, Proposal writing and donor relations management, Team building and staff management, event coordination, media management, production logistics. She has launched websites and run behaviour change campaigns including on social media, advised on advocacy strategies and policy work with NGOs and civil society groups across Africa, South America and Asia, developed video and audio projects from concept to scriptwriting to interviewing and editing as well as on the ground logistics (and hosting duties when necessary). Most recently she oversaw the development of the complex cluster communications strategy for the EAC-GIZ and the production of multiple products, including writing and training of staff, plus the Communications Strategy for CENIT@EA (The Centre of Excellence for Information and Communications Technology in East Africa), the Pastoral Women’s Council, The Nature Conservancy’s Northern Tanzania Rangelands Initiative and the advocacy strategy for the Tanzanian Land Alliance coalition.
Having run the communications departments for multiple international organisations including WWF, BirdLife International, International Polar Foundation and Landcare and been hired as an advisor and consultant for Bloomberg Philanthropies, PEW Charitable Trusts and multiple other organisations, Tania has led and advised teams on best practice and winning campaigns across her whole career. Currently working on multiple consultancies involving mentoring managers and staff and capacity building teams (EAC-GIZ, PAMS Foundation), she is a leader who leads by example and understands organisational development and team building techniques, especially in a cross cultural setting.
Across her 25 year career in international NGOs and development agencies, Tania has overseen communications, fundraiaing and campaigning projects around the world, with an emphasis on community engagement and outreach. With a focus on conservation and development, her work often focused on displaced people and storytelling around development issues. Her Masters thesis focused on the Hadzabe tribe in northern Tanzania, she carried out a University internship in Zimbabwe focusing on irrigation projects across the region, and most recently having lived in Tanzania for the past three years, a majority of her work has been with grass roots organisations.
As part of his duties at the Pan-African University, Chancelle manages the communication component. To her credit, we can cite, with the help of experienced technicians, the design of the UPA website (https://pau-au.africa/) and a Facebook page with more than 35,000 followers. She oversees communication activities in the various institutes of the Pan-African University. However, it also ensures communication between the AU Commission and member states regarding the PAU. Among other things, she ensures the follow-up of Memoranda of Understanding, drafts speeches for the Commissioner and prepares technical sheets during official visits by the Commissioner.
Passionate about internet and external tourism, she has traveled to nearly 70 countries around the world for tourism, studies and work.
She visited the pyramids of Egypt, visited Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, stayed in Zanzibar and Serengeti and Ngorongoro Safari to Arusha, visited Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Disneyland, the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre in France, the Great Wall of China in Beijing, and the National Museum of China. However, her best experience was in Kourou in Guyana where she had the privilege of visiting the Guyanese space center during the launch of the Sentinet 1-a satellite with Ariane Space. This was the launch of the first Copernicus satellite, an unprecedented earth observation program, initiated under the name GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security).
Heart in hand, Chancelle works a lot in the social sector. She helps several orphanages and educates underprivileged children. She also donated nearly 100 sheets to Mossendjo Hospital.
In the field of education and the promotion of academic excellence, since 2018 it has launched the reward program for the best baccalaureate holders in the Congo. She is currently in the process of setting up a structure to support graduates of the baccalaureate.

Katlong Dasat is a Development Communication and Media relations expert. She has great strengths in media relations, content production for traditional and digital platforms, as well as an experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships. She has collaborated to come up with communication strategy for various projects like the European Union sponsored project centred around the Sustainable Development Goals which was aimed at getting more young people involved in politics before 2023.
Katlong also developed and implemented a communication and social-media strategy on a project centred on governance and police reforms which is a huge success at the BBC Media Action.

Daniel Luque brings his many years of Web Development and IT Solutions work in Africa to the table, he has a unique insight into the needs of the program and specific cultural aspects. He also delivers his teaching passion and good communication skills to transfer knowledge on different IT areas and techniques, with a special focus on the Typo3 CMS maintenance and troubleshooting, content curation, data protection policies, and IT security. With over 10 years experience, and a strong background in music related design, Eddie has worked with clients and brands from the Beatles to Vodafone across the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia. His personal animation work has been screened in Berlin Asian Hotshots Festival and ONEDOTZERO.
Eddie has created several 3D and 2D animation videos with the African Union in close cooperation with the DIC Department. He developed 3 animated videos for the Digital Transformation Centers, an initiative of BMZ implemented by GIZ.

Michal devotes his career life to video postproduction which on the one hand includes editing, but on the other hand also static graphics, basic motion graphics, sound editing, and color corrections. He has over seven years of experience in the video editing field in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany. Michal has worked on numerous projects such as commercials, online series, documentaries, music videos, and feature movies. He greatly enjoys the variety of formats he works with, as each project brings new challenges and requires a different approach.
Michal's main passion is technology and finding creative ways to increase the reach of the projects he is working on. At Kopperkollektive, Michal has worked on the mini-series EAC GIZ Insights. He considers the work on this project very fulfilling as EAC GIZ seeks to find regional solutions through international and supraregional partnerships.
In the Czech Republic, Michal has won first place with his student movie "Robine?" at the prestigious film festival iShorts.
